How to Work the Extended Single Crochet Stitch

- Insert hook in stitch indicated.
- Yarn over, pull up a loop.
- Yarn over, pull through one loop.
- Yarn over, pull through both loops on hook.

- Yarn – you can create this stitch with any yarn you desire.
- Use the hook size indicated on the yarn packaging.

- ch – chain
- esc – extended single crochet
- st(s) – stitch(es)
- yo – yarn over
The Extended Single Crochet Stitch Tutorial
Begin by crocheting a chain of any number.
Row 1
Step 1
Insert your hook into the second ch from the hook.
Step 2
Yo, pull up a loop. (2 loops on hook)
Step 3
Yo, pull through one loop. (2 loops on hook)
Step 4
Yo, pull through both loops. (1 loop on hook) Your first esc is complete.
Continue working esc to the end of the ch.
Row 2
Ch 1, turn. Esc in first st and each st to end of row.
Repeat Row 2 until desired length.
